Loving the way I feel after I workout - so many endorphins. BUT I need to learn to fix my eating. that is important.
Thinking about trying to see about getting my hernia fixed along with some corrective surgery. we'll see.

Protein bar recipes. I need to venture to the store and pick up some of these ingredients so I can manufacture some of these :)
Pumpkin Protein Bars...
1 can of pumpkin (15 oz)
1 cup apple sauce
1 cup whole wheat flour
1 cup protein powder (160 gm protein)
1 cup quick oats
3 eggs beaten
2 TSP Cinnamon
1 TSP nutmeg
Mix Dry ingredients together, add in wet ingredients, might turn out best if you mix wet ingredients together then mix them with the dry ingredients
Bake 25-30 minutes until the toothpick inserted in the middle comes out clean.
Makes 16 bars.
Serving size - 1 bar
Calories - 144.25
Fat - 2.375 gm
Saturated - .5gm
Polyunsaturated- .5gm
Monounsaturated - .625gm
Carbohydrates- 18.75gm
Dietary Fiber - 2.5gm
Protein - 14 gm
Before I forget - banana protein bars..
2 cups of smashed bananas

Day 11: the day of the great flood
So, I live in nashville. There were huge floods here in town today and everything was just weird. Kids were weird too and with all of the rain my arthritis is very bad. I hurt so severely in fact that I am not going to do Yoga tonight. I'm also not doing cardio like I planned. I'm going to take some pain relievers and go to bed. Sometimes you have to know your limits instead of push yourself and I know mine. If I try to workout with my body aching like it does , I risk an injury. if I get injured...i won't be able to work out at all. SO I"ll play it safe and be sure to stay tuned for my exciting post workout mind dump for Day 12...legs and back. Oh how i adore that workout. <3

Fat girl to Skinny Girl....Hello world...and Day 10 of P90X
Hi. My name is Carol. I see you found my super not-so-secret-but-not-really-advertised corner of the web for all things healthy and fitness related. Welcome, welcome, welcome. C'mon in and pull up a body ball. That will help you stabilize your core ;)
So, I am a 34 year old fat girl. Yeah....i'm blunt. You'll live ;) I had a duodenal switch (Form of gastric bypass) in 2004. I am a single, work at home mother of 2 small children (1 and 2 years old). When I work out regularly I become addicted to the endorphins that are released and I want more and more and more. So I stopped working out a few years ago because I was stupid. So now I need to get back into shape. That's the short version of who I am.
I am starting this blog because I know that everyone I know is getting so sick of hearing about P90X and my diet and food and everything else I obsess about because I am excited about this program!! Instead....I'll just "bring it" verbally here and "BRING IT" Physically in front of my TV!!!
My starting weight way back on April 8th was 293 lbs. (yes, I know (!!!!!!) ) I am so ashamed. I really would like to kick myself square in the head but i'm not that flexible yet.)
I was hospitalized for severe anemia and given a blood transfusion around there. I lost 16 lbs in the hospital and then kept losing when I got home. I got down to 271.
Then I started P90X which is a FABULOUS program. I was SOOOO hoping to keep losing and be miraculously skinny by the end of the summer. Ain't gonna happen. I started gaining weight. Cut my calories. Gained weight. Piled on the water. Gained weight. added extra cardio. Gained weight. Figured out that duhhhh i'm building muscle mass like a crazy person!!! I've gained 10 lbs this week. absolutely NO WAY I exceeded my caloric intake by over 30,000 calories. What did I do???? eat a field of sugar cane????? Seriously!!!
I LOOK skinnier, everyone is telling me "OMG You have lost so much weight!" I just want to tell them "Um...no actually only 12 lbs." but i just say thank you and move on.
I am LOVING P90X. This program is simply THE BEST workout and I am in love. I miss the machines from the gym and the dumbbells and free weights....ohhhh i miss those.... but i'm loving the muscle confusion!!
Today was Day 10 of the program which is Shoulders and Arms & Abs X. I am opting out of abs tonight because I am trying to fall asleep sitting here and that's just not good!!!
After I finished my workout tonight I had some greek yogurt with granola, peanut butter and a dab of honey in it. Delish!! and 24 grams of beautiful protein!
I need to order a protein shake mix...any suggestions on brand? I need 30-50 grams of protein and only 3 grams carbs preferably. Suggestions?
Loving the shoulder & Arms workout. LOVING it. Tomorrow is supposed to be yoga. I am going to do as much as I can of it and then switch to the cardio dvd.
Well...i'm obviously tired so i'm going to go rest with my children. :)
